Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Ratifying the Agreement on the Formation of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Institute
(Adopted at the 28th Session of the Standing Committee of the Twelfth National People's Congress on June 27, 2017)
As decided at the 28th Session of the Standing Committee of the Twelfth National People's Congress, theAgreement on the Formation of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Institute(hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”) signed by the representative of the People's Republic of China in Islamabad on October 26, 2016, is hereby ratified, accompanied with the following declaration:
I. In accordance with the provisions of item (3), paragraph 1 of Article 21 of the Agreement, the People's Republic of China will retain the right to impose taxes on the salaries and remunerations obtained by the employeesof Chinese nationality from the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Institute.
II. The Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China shall be governed by the Agreement, but shall not be subject to the declaration made by the People's Republic of China based on item (3), paragraph 1 of Article 21 of the Agreement.
III. The Agreement shall not apply to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, until a notice of the Government of the People's Republic of China directs otherwise.
