Jinshan Charts Future Growth Path with $11B Investment Bonanza
2026-03-04 10

In its first week back after the holiday, Shanghai's Jinshan District held its 2026 Investment Promotion and Service Conference, signing 26 projects with a total investment exceeding 11 billion yuan. Focused on building a "2+2+3+X" advanced manufacturing system, Jinshan, known as Shanghai's "back garden," is leveraging cutting-edge technology to solidify its status as a prime investment destination.
Nine projects, backed by over 2 billion yuan, are injecting new momentum into the smart mobility and equipment sector. With the arrival of industry giants like Lexus, Jinshan is strategically developing core technologies such as solid-state batteries and silicon carbide electric drive systems. These advancements resonate with the demand for new materials in areas like new energy vehicles and the low-altitude economy, weaving a sophisticated industrial network led by key players. Projects like Changzhou ChuangSheng's lithium battery equipment manufacturing base and Haidesi's door module production line are further bolstering the NEV supply chain.
Jinshan is also firmly "investing in the future," channeling nearly 5 billion yuan into three emerging sectors: biomanufacturing, electronic information, and green energy. A key breakthrough came in the electronic information sector with a chip-on-film (COF) driver IC packaging project led by a team of industry veterans.
This industrial surge is powered by Jinshan's integrated "closed-loop ecosystem" for investment promotion and service. Partnering with Gu Chuan Group, a leader in the field for 16 years, Jinshan utilizes an "internet + big data + investment" strategy. This powerful algorithm leverages data from over 1.34 million enterprises and 9,400+ past projects to attract targeted investment. Furthermore, the Beijing Institute of Graphene Technology and Beijing Longpu Technology plan to establish a center in Jinshan focused on graphene applications in robotics and advanced alloys, complementing the district's high-end chemical new materials sector.
Blending primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, Jinshan is unleashing the value of its "urban back garden." Projects like Yatai Agriculture's modern facility agriculture base and Qiangfeng Group's rural complex are creating new models of integrated industry and urban development. A strategic partnership with Bilibili will use youthful, immersive communication to showcase the vibrant intersection of hard technology and local culture in Jinshan.
Looking toward the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Jinshan aims to foster one world-class advanced industrial cluster exceeding 200 billion yuan in output value, one nationally leading cluster exceeding 100 billion yuan, and several emerging clusters worth tens of billions. Supported by its "1+6+X+13+N" integrated service framework and the "Jinshan Enterprise Service Cloud" platform, the district is building a modern industrial system by cultivating new quality productive forces and providing full-process support for business growth.
