The lawyers associations of all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government; and the Lawyers Association of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:
The Amendment to the Code of Practice for Lawyers, as deliberated and adopted at the 2nd meeting of the Ninth Executive Council of the All-China Lawyers' Association, is hereby issued to you for your compliance and implementation.

Amendment to the Code of Practice for Lawyers 
(As deliberated and adopted at the 2nd meeting of the Ninth Executive Council of the All-China Lawyers' Association)
I. One article is added after Article 2 of the Code of Practice for Lawyers as Article 3: “Lawyers shall take upholding the leadership of the Communist Party of China and supporting the socialist rule of law as the basic requirements for the practice of law.”
II. One paragraph is added in Article 6 of the Code of Practice for Lawyers as paragraph 2: “Lawyers shall not hype individual cases by taking advantage of their lawyers' identity or in the name of their law firms to attack the socialist system and conduct any activity jeopardizing national security, or incite, abet or organize relevant interested groups by taking advantage of their lawyers' identity to interfere with and damage the normal social order, or abet or instigate the parties to make a false confession in collusion or forge evidence by taking advantage of their lawyers' identity to interfere with normal judicial activities.”
