Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Ratifying the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism
(Adopted at 16th Session of the Standing Committee of the Eleventh National People's Congress on August 28, 2011)
At its 16th Session, the Standing Committee of the Eleventh National People's Republic of China decides: to ratify the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism ( hereinafter referred to as “ the Convention”), which was adopted at the 59th United Nations General Assembly on April 13, 2005, and simultaneously declared that,
1. The People's Republic of China shall not be subject to the restrictions of Paragraph 1 of Article 23 of the Convention.
2. In accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 3 of Article 9 of the Convention, The People's Republic of China established the jurisdiction by the provision of Paragraph 2 of Article 9 of the Convention.
3. Before the government of the People's Republic of China issues a separate notice, the Convention shall not apply to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China for the time being.
