Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Ratifying the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
(Adopted at the 3rd Session of the Standing Committee of the Eleventh National People's Congress on June 26, 2008)
At its 3rd Session, the Standing Committee of the Eleventh National People's Congress decides: to ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities adopted at the 61st Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 13, 2006, and declare simultaneously that the application of the provisions on “liberty of movement” and “nationality” in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China shall not change the legal force of laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China on the immigration control and application for nationality.
