Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Matters concerning the Duties of the Constitution and Law Committee of the National People's Congress
(Adopted at the third Session of the Standing Committee of the Thirteenth National People's Congress on June 22, 2018)
According to the relevant provisions of the Constitution, the first session of the Thirteenth National People's Congress has decided to establish the Constitution and Law Committee of the National People's Congress. For the purpose of specifying the duties of the Constitution and Law Committee, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has decided that:
I. The duties of the “Law Committee” set out in the Organic Law of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, the Legislation Law of the People's Republic of China, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Supervision of Standing Committees of People's Congresses at Various Levels, the Rules of Procedure for the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China and the Rules of Procedure of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China shall be assumed by the Constitution and Law Committee.
II. The Constitution and Law Committee shall, on the basis of continuously assuming the unified deliberation of law drafts and other work, assume the additional duties such as promoting the implementation of the Constitution, giving interpretations of the Constitution, promoting the examination of the compliance with the Constitution, strengthening supervision of the Constitution and cooperating in the publicity of the Constitution
