Almost 22,000 merchants from around 120 countries and regions are expected to take part in the fifth session of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing, which will run from May 28 June 1. Among the participating delegations, 25 come from 46 countries along the Belt and Road.

With the theme of "openness, innovation, and integration", CIFTIS this year aims to promote the development of the trade in services among countries and regions along the Belt and Road, according to an announcement at a press conference for the event held on Thursday afternoon in Beijing.

The event will include 130 activities in the form of exhibitions, forums, and talks, including a Belt and Road service and trade cooperation forum, an event to promote Belt and Road cultural ties, the International Traditional Medicine, Health, and Tourism Forum, and the China Service Design Congress.

More than 7,500 domestic and international enterprises have participated in the previous four sessions of the CIFTIS, attracting an audience of around half a million merchants from 173 countries.
