Chinese crayfish head to World Cup in Russia

A China-Europe freight train carrying 100,000 crayfish will head from central China's Wuhan Province to Russia this week, and is due to arrive in Moscow by the middle of the month, reports chinatimes.com.

The crayfish will reportedly be used in meals served during the 2018 World Cup.
"These crayfish have already been processed, so they can be eaten after being heated for just five minutes," said the head of the China Agricultural Development Group.

Russia has not previously been a major importer of crayfish from the Chinese mainland. But sellers in China are using the World Cup as a major marketing opportunity for the delicacy.
