Chinese marine engine manufacturer plans to invest in production in Primorsky Krai, Russia

According to the government of Primorsky Krai in Russia, plans are underway to organize the production of Chinese ship engines at the Nakhodka Ship Repair Plant. According to Anatoly Smirnov, the project manager of the "Nakhodka Ship Repair Plant" joint-stock company, quoted by the government of the border region, an agreement has been reached with the Chinese side on the supply of spare parts (including engines for spare parts) after the results of the ship engine supply conference held last year.

The Russian Primorsky Krai government plans to increase its trade volume with China to $20 billion by the end of 2025.

 

Smirnov said at a regional management meeting of the Ministry of Industry and Trade with leaders of Primorsky Krai and Chinese industrial enterprises on February 25th, "We can assemble engines in the factory. Now we need to determine the brand and model, as well as the necessary quantity. Guo Liang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qingdao Zichai Boyang Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. (a Chinese marine diesel engine manufacturer), who attended the meeting, said that the company not only plans to supply parts to the Primorsky Krai but also plans to establish a service center to manufacture or assemble engines.

 

Guo Liang said, "With the support of our partners, we are ready to establish an engine manufacturing or assembly factory and carry out localized production. According to the Industry and Trade Bureau of the border region, the Far East Branch of the Russian Maritime Register is currently reviewing over 10400 marine engines with a depreciation rate exceeding 50%.
